HYDERABAD: Chief Executive Officer of Matrix Laboratories N. Prasad has become the highest individual taxpayer in the Andhra Pradesh region of the Income-Tax Department by paying Rs. 26.40 crore. Mr. Prasad had paid Rs. 2.70 crore towards tax last year. "He [Mr. Prasad] had issued an advance cheque dated March 14 towards the payment," the Chief Commissioner of I-T, Andhra Pradesh region, D.V. Dharmik said at a press conference here on Thursday.
Tops HUF list too
Mr. Prasad also topped the list of taxpayers in the Hindu undivided family (HUF) category with Rs. 2.05 crore.
