Rohit enters final

HYDERABAD: Rohit Bisht got the better of Mohit Mayur 6-4, 6-0 in the semifinals of the all India super series tennis tournament at the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) Complex, Lal Bahadur Stadium, here on Thursday.

The results (all semifinals): Boys': Under-14: Rohit Bisht bt Mohit Mayur 6-4, 6-0; Alla Srikar bt Ronit Bisht 7-6(4), 5-7, 7-5. U-12: Ronit Bisht bt S.M. Abdullah 4-2, 4-1; Vishal Passi bt A. Kumar Bhuyan 4-2, 4-1.

Girls': U-14: Vaidehi Bhagwat bt Natasha Palha 6-3, 6-3; Bhavana Suresh bt Sansitha Nandakumar 4-6, 6-3, 6-2. U-12: Sheikh Amreen bt Seeulee Upadhyay 4-2, 5-3; Y. Sindura bt S. Swetha 5-3, 4-2.

Cross-country race

The Byrapeneni Sambasiva Rao memorial open cross-country championship will be held at Perecherla village, Medikondoor mandal, Guntur District on March 24.

Entries can be sent to T. Shiva Gangadhar Rao, PET, SGVR High School, Perecherla, Ph: 9395366619. Those interested in participating may alight at the Perecherla Railway Station, which lies on the rail route linking Guntur to Guntakal, Narsaraopet and Hospet.

Badminton tournament

The two-day Paruchuri Brahmeswara Rao memorial badminton (doubles) non-medallists' tournament for men and veterans (above 45) will be held at Fun Times Club stadium, Vijayawada, on March 17 and 18.

Carrom championship

The four-day Krishna District carrom championship will be held at the Dafedhar Appa Rao Memorial Hall, Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium, Vijayawada, from March 10.

The championship, to be held in singles, is restricted to Central and State Government employees (both men and women). The entry fee is Rs.30 and the interested players should register their names before 8 p.m. on March 9.
