Jungle tours for children

Staff Reporter

Coimbatore: Aavishkaar India involved in organising events for kids in South India, is organising `Wild Indian Tours' for children during the forthcoming summer season.

A release said that the company was organising the tours since 2000, taking children aged 9 to 14 to South Indian jungles.

Popular

This had become very popular in Chennai. With only 40 to 45 children per camp, there was enhanced attention on children.

Every year, on an average 800 children were taken to the jungles. This year, the programmes would be held from April 16 to May 17, when the schools were closed immediately after the examinations.

There would be two trips to Karadimalai - on the Yelagiri Hills, two trips to Palani Hills off Kodaikanal, two trips to Wayanad - Muthanga Wild Life Sanctuary and one trip to the Anamalais.

Experiences

By being two to three days away from home, in a group of new fellow mates, opened the young minds to very many things that parents found difficult to achieve inside the home; listening to instructions, washing the plates they ate in, making their beds, keeping their belongings in their place and adjusting to others in the group.
