Hartal in Kerala hits traffic

Coimbatore: In view of the hartal in Kerala called to protest against the move to avail loan from World Bank, the inter-State traffic between Tamil Nadu and Kerala was hit at the Coimbatore end.

Vehicles stranded

Even trucks laden with perishable commodities such as milk, eggs, poultry, vegetables and fruits got stranded on the Tamil Nadu border.

Following the suspension of bus service, the Ukkadam bus stand wore a deserted a look and the train services remained fully packed to their capacity.
