HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday convicted Monica Bedi, former actor, holding her guilty of obtaining and using a forged passport. Justice B. Seshasayana Reddy sentenced Ms. Bedi to a three-year term of imprisonment, while disposing of her appeal. She was detained along with underworld don Abu Salem in Portugal. Her name and other details in her passport were incorrect. The CBI charged her with obtaining and using a forged passport and the criminal court in the city of Hyderabad convicted her and imposed jail term of five years. The High Court, which heard the criminal appeal, refused to grant her bail and finally disposed of the appeal and imposed the punishment.
