KOLKATA: West Bengal Governor Gopalkrishna Gandhi reiterated here on Thursday the State Government's willingness to discuss with the Opposition aspects pertaining to the Tata Motors' automobile project at Singur. Delivering his address on the opening day of the budget session of the Assembly, Mr. Gandhi said a number of investment proposals, including the Singur project, from major companies had been received. They were under different stages of examination and implementation. Legislators of the Trinamool Congress, which had been opposing the Singur project and campaigning against the acquisition of agricultural land for industries, protested against the Governor's remarks but Mr. Gandhi continued his address. He said seven proposals for setting up special economic zones (SEZs) had been formally approved by the Centre though the SEZ policy was under review.
