HASSAN: Gurupadappa Nagamarapalli, MLA and former Minister, said there was no coordination between the coalition partners, the Janata Dal (Secular) and the Bharatiya Janata Party, as they kept making contradictory statements. The Minister's hellicopter was forced to land at the Hassan Government Polytechnic grounds here on Wednesday. Mr. Nagamarapalli, accompanied by his family, was on his way to Mangalore from Bangalore. When the helicopter was above Sakleshpur in Hassan district, the pilot complained of poor visibility, and a technical snag forced the helicopter to land in Hassan. As there was no fuel in the helicopter, the Minister went to the Government Guesthouse and left Hassan only after the fuel was brought from Bangalore. Addressing presspersons at the guesthouse, Mr. Nagamarapalli said that the Chief Minister had announced that arrack and lotteries would be banned. But BJP Ministers had contradicted the statement. According to Mr. Nagamarapalli, even in case of waiver of farmers' loans the Government had not made it clear whether it would waive all loans or only cooperative loans. Mr. Nagamarapalli felt that the JD(S) leader H.D. Deve Gowda would not allow Deputy Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa to become the Chief Minister. Mr. Deve Gowda would rather go in for polls than making a BJP candidate the Chief Minister. When my son, Umakanth Nagamarapalli, was abducted and assaulted by naxalites, I asked for a CBI probe but the Government ordered a CoD inquiry, and till this day, the report has not been released.
