29 cases of meningitis registered

NEW DELHI: The Capital has registered 29 probable cases of meningococcal meningitis in March with two confirmed deaths due to meningitis. Senior Municipal Corporation of Delhi official N.K. Yadav confirmed that this year the city had registered 48 confirmed cases of the disease and two deaths.

"Experiments with Theatre"

NEW DELHI: A 20-day workshop "Experiments with Theatre" culminated at 5 Tees January Marg here on Thursday with a performance on various aspects of social theatre by students of Srijan.

Organised by Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti in collaboration with the Bond Street Theatre of New York and Exile Theatre of Afghanistan, the workshop saw American and Afghani theatre experts teaching nuances of social theatre to Srijan students.

Water supply to be affected

NEW DELHI: Due to repair work, water supply will be affected on Friday evening in Welcome Colony, New Seelampur-III and IV, Naveen Shahdara, Subhash Park, Rohtash Nagar, Balbir Nagar Extension, Shivaji Park, Gorakh Park East and West, Durga Puri, Dilshad Garden, Ashok Nagar, Hardev Puri, Yamuna Vihar, Gokal Puri and Loni Road.

Water supply will be affected from Friday evening to Saturday morning in Rohini Sector-3, Mangolpuri, Sultanpuri, Paschim Puri, Paschim Vihar, Peeragarhi Pump House due to major repair works.

MoU Award presented

NEW DELHI: NTPC Limited has been ranked top awardee for MoU Award for Excellence in Performance instituted by Department of Public Enterprises consecutively for two years with excellent rating.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh presented the MoU Award to CMD of NTPC T. Sankaralingam at a function here on Thursday.

Procession to mark Women's Day

NEW DELHI: To mark International Women's Day, a grand procession of ladies with two tableaux highlighting women rights and empowerment was taken out from Shakti Nagar area here and a seminar on women empowerment was organised by Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya here on Thursday.
