"Internal disputes mar BJP"

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ram Babu Sharma on Thursday claimed that internal disputes have broken the backbone of Bharatiya Janata Party in Delhi and this had been illustrated by the vacant seats during the Parivartan Sabha organised by the party at Talkatora Stadium on Wednesday.

Stating that despite the presence of former Deputy Prime Minister L. K. Advani and national president Rajnath Singh, the BJP was unable to rope in party workers for the meet, Mr Sharma asserted that there was disenchantment among its workers and thus the party would face a Herculean task in winning even a few seats during the MCD polls.

As for the Congress, Mr Sharma said it was a mass-based party and the notification of Master Plan 2021 and regularisation of 1,500 unauthorised colonies recently by the Centre has provided relief to over 35 lakh people in Delhi that would translate into a thumping victory for the party. "The new Master Plan has given new hope and relief to almost every section of the society,'' he declared.
