Brief for talks gets approval

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: Nearly a week before the Foreign Secretary-level talks with Pakistan, the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) on Thursday approved the brief for the Indian side.

Presided over by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the CCS also discussed the outcome of the two-day maiden meeting of the joint anti-terror mechanism that concluded in Islamabad on Wednesday.

"The CCS approved the approach to be adopted at the Foreign Secretary-level talks to be held in Islamabad on March 13-14," Finance Minister P. Chidambaram told reporters.
