Show-cause notice to be served

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Syndicate of the University of Kerala has decided to send a show cause to the SUT Academy of Medical Sciences asking it to show reasons not to have its affiliation withdrawn.

A press release issued here on Thursday said the decision followed the failure of the academy to comply with various affiliation-related procedures, including payment of Rs.25 lakh as financial guaranty. It was also decided to suspend all examination work related to the academy till the amount was paid.

It was following a court directive that the university granted affiliation to the Academy this year, the press release added.
