dated March 10, 1957: Coastal cargo service

The scheme for running a coastal cargo service, between Calcutta and Bombay, touching the intermediary ports both on the east coast and on the west might be kept deferred for some time more. It is now gathered that the Government of Madras have suggested that this scheme be kept pending in view of the proposed construction of the Sethusamudram Project.
