Puducherry: President of the Nationalist Congress Party here G. Sundaramoorthy has called upon the Government to bring in legislation to prevent indiscriminate conversion of farmlands for non-farm projects. He told newsmen here on Friday that there had been a fast decline in the extent of cultivable lands with real estate business gaining momentum. He said that he had written a letter to his party leader Sharad Pawar to intervene and save the situation. The party would soon chalk out a detailed protest plan.
