Emphatic win for SAEC

Ramanathapuram: A five-wicket haul by Lendil Baskey (five for 30) and a half-century by Baskara Sethupathy (53) helped Syed Ammal Engineering College to a seven-wicket win over Master Thunder Cricket Club in the Ramanathapuram DCAssociation first division league recently.

The scores: Master Thunder CC 163 in 37 overs (Lendil Baskey five for 30) lost to Syed Ammal Engg. College CC 166 for three in 30.5 overs (Baskara Sethupathy 53); Rainbow CC 207 in 43 overs (Saren Jayakumar 60, Suresh 31) bt Agni CC 135 in 32.4 overs (Pandi 50); Nehru CC 113 in 39 overs (Sunil 35, Bala three for nine) lost to K.T. Karthick Memorial CC 116 for three in16.3 overs (Ramu 50); Nethaji CC 112 in 17.2 overs bt Syed Ammal Engg. College CC 83 in 26.1 overs (Seeninathan four for 26); Grandslam CC 80 in 20.1 overs (Rajesh four for 46, Rajeswaran four for 17) lost to Syed Ammal Engg. College CC 81 for three in 13 overs (Baskara Sethupathy 36); National CC 149 in 28 overs (Saravanakumar 53, Aravind five for 30) bt Maruthupandiar CC 107 in 23 overs.

SRI scores win

At Tiruchi, Southern Railway Institute (SRI) defeated OFT 2-1 in a Tiruchi District Football Association first division league match on Friday.

The results: First division: Southern Railway Institute 2 (Venkatnarayanan, Benny) bt OFT 1 (Srinivasan). Third division: Kallakudi 1 (Ramkumar) bt Adavan 0; Rock City 1 (Kumar) drew with Jothi Micro 1 (Charles).
