Singapore: Jyoti Randhawa put himself in prime position for some early celebration of the birth of his first child when he climbed to the top of the leaderboard at the halfway stage of the Clariden Leu Singapore Masters golf here on Friday.

The 34-year-old shot a brilliant round of four-under-par 68 on the more demanding Masters Course at the Laguna National Golf Club and enjoyed a one-stroke lead over Scotland's Barry Hume at 11-under 133.

Among other Indians in the fray, Gaurav Ghei continued his fine run and a two-under 70 gave him tied eighth place at six-under 138.

Rahil Gangjee and Asian No.1 Jeev Milkha Singh also made the halfway cut in the $1.1 million tournament.

Cliff Kresge holed two eagles in a 6-under 65 for a two-shot lead in the PODS championship at Palm Harbour in Florida on Thursday — Agencies
