CHANDIGARH: Haryana Governor A.R. Kidwai said on Friday that the Bhupinder Singh Hooda Government was firmly committed to getting the State's share in the Ravi-Beas waters through the Sutlej-Yamuna Link Canal. Delivering the customary Governor's Address on the opening day of the Budget Session of the Vidhan Sabha here, Dr. Kidwai asserted that the Government was determined to protect the legitimate rights of the State and its people in this regard. Concerted efforts were being made to get the matter decided speedily, he added. Dr. Kidwai said the Government was providing an effective, responsive, transparent and clean administration and the emphasis was on transforming Haryana into the country's No. One State. He said an investment of Rs. 22,000 crore had been made in the State during the past two years and a further investment of Rs. 53,000 crore was in the pipeline. Haryana had received a large number of applications to set up Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and out of these, 49 had been approved in principle by the Central Government. He added that the Government proposed to develop economic hubs all along the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway and also at strategic locations all over the State.
