RYF flays budget

PATHANAMTHITTA: Revolutionary Youth Front (RYF) State secretary Saleem P.Chacko alleged that the annual budget presented by Minister for Finance T.M. Thomas Isaac, had disappointed the youth in the State.

In a statement issued here on Friday, Mr. Chacko alleged that the budget had sidelined the sad plight of not less than 45-lakh educated unemployed youth who have registered their name at various employment exchanges in different parts of the State.

He alleged that there was every reason to suspect interference of `outside agencies' such as the Asian Development Bank leading to non-inclusion of adequate provisions in the budget to generate more employment opportunities in the State.

Mr. Chacko said that the RYF would observe Saturday as `protest day' in the State to protest against lack of provisions in the budget for employment generation.
