MLA hurt in road accident

Cuttack: Cuttack Sadar legislator Pravat Ranjan Biswal was admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital here after a road accident at Bhubaneswar on Thursday night. Biswal has sustained spinal cord and chest injury with bruises in his face. He is out of danger but would be kept under observation for some more days, hospital sources said.

According to family sources, the MLA was returning to his Cuttack home after a meeting in the State Capital when the vehicle that he was driving skidded and dashed against a wall at PMG Square in Bhubaneswar. He was immediately admitted to a private clinic but when his condition deteriorated he was shifted to Cuttack, sources said.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, MP Pyari Mohan Mohapatra and several other leaders visited the hospital to inquire about Biswal's condition.
