YSR's relative killed in accident

ONGOLE: Y. C. Poli Reddy (70), a relative of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, died in a road accident at his native village Medarametla in Prakasam district on Friday evening.

Poli Reddy is the father of Y. C. Subba Reddy, a contractor. The wife of Mr. Subba Reddy, who was accused by the opposition parties for his involvement in the Outer Ring Road land controversy, and the Chief Minister's wife are sisters.

It is stated that Poli Reddy alighted from his vehicle at Thammavaram cross and was crossing the road when a Tata Sumo going from Guntur to Ongole hit him. He died on the spot. His body was brought to the Government Hospital at Ongole for post-mortem. His body will be cremated at his native village on Saturday. Dr. Reddy is expected to attend the funeral.
