Special Correspondent

TDP president flays State at `Maha Dharna'

HYDERABAD: Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu has asked partymen to be prepared for a showdown with the Congress Government for forgetting its pre-poll promises on welfare of weaker sections.

At a `Maha Dharna' that marked the culmination of dharnas spread over three days, he recalled how every section of people felt aggrieved and deceived by the Congress. A time had come for political leaders to be taught a lesson for misplacing the faith that voters reposed in them. In his 50 minute-long speech, he listed the erstwhile TDP Government's achievements and the failures of the Congress Government now.

Lal Jan Basha, MP, T. Devender Goud, P. Keshav, MLAs, Kaluva Srinivas, Polit Buro member, and party vice-president J.R. Pushparaj, also spoke. Earlier, Mr. Naidu led over a dozen MLAs from the Assembly and marched in a procession to Indira Park.
