Car set on fire
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE:
A mentally unstable man set ablaze a car near the West Gate of the Vidhana Soudha (opposite D. Devaraj Urs statue) on Friday.
Police said that the car owner parked the vehicle near the Accountant-General's Office circle on running out of fuel and went towards Palace Road to fetch petrol. Around 10 a.m., his friend Kuldeep Singh (45) allegedly lit a matchstick and set the vehicle on fire, damaging it partially.
Singh, who was sent for medical examination, was declared mentally unsound, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Vidhana Soudha Security) Lakshman Singh told The Hindu.
Mr. Lakshman Singh said that though the incident had not taken place on the Vidhana Soudha premises it came under the jurisdiction of the Vidhana Soudha police station.
