Three months after it created Zapak, India's biggest games portal on the Web, the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group has launched a separate resource offering a combination of games, and sisterly advice for trendy women.
Mind-ticklers
The site www.zapakgirls.com includes mind-ticklers, games such as Diner Dash2 and Plantasia known to appeal to women, as well as advice on careers, health, fashion and family.
Inaugurated last week
Inaugurated last week by actress-model Malaika Arora, ZapakGirls hopes to appeal to many of the 12 India-based million women who logged on to the Internet in 2006 — 57 per cent of them from home.
Online socialising communities is a recent phenomenon on the Net and Zapak might well have found the right combo of attractions to persuade Indian women to find a common cause (laced with some infotainment) the Internet way.
