BEIJING:
The room for terrorist activities has been shrinking in northwest China's Xinjiang as ``the number of good people is increasing and bad people decreasing'', said Ismail Tiliwaldi, chairman of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, here on Friday. He made the remarks on the sidelines of Parliament's annual session, in response to a question on terrorist activities in Xinjiang. Police crushed a terrorist training camp in January in the region, killing 18 terrorists and capturing 17 others. The police also seized grenades and home-made explosives. The training camp was run by the East Turkestan Islamic Movement, a group that the United Nations in 2002
