A brilliant career gone awry

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: "Seeking a challenging position that would utilise the best of my knowledge, skill and provide opportunities to grow," is what 22-year-old engineering graduate Sujith Venkatramolla wrote in his resume while studying at the University of Missouri Rolla in the U.S.

Arrested on February 28 in connection threatening terrorist-type actions in the Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Building, Sujith's academic record showed him as a brilliant student, who had scored distinction right from class tenth.

A student of R.B.V.R.R High School, Sujith passed class tenth with 76.77 per cent and scored a whopping 95.10 per cent in Intermediate while studying in Sri Chaitanya Junior College. He was awarded gold medal from the Osmania University for topping in the civil engineering department of the Deccan College of Engineering and Technology in 2006. He did not stop at that and secured 558th rank in GATE 2005, according to information posted on www.peeringintodarkness.
