Power shutdown

CHENNAI: Power supply will be suspended on Tuesday (March 13) between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. for maintenance work in the following areas: Parts of NSC Bose Road, Badri Garden Street and Krishnappa Maistry Street in Park Town; parts of Kodambakkam, Choolaimedu, Rangarajapuram, Vadapalani, Ashok Nagar and Saligramam; Vaitheyanathan Street and Sanni Amman Koil Street in V.O.C. Nagar; New Street, Ramaswamy Street, S.M.M. Street, S.V. Koil Street, C.M. Street and Vengataiyar Street in Muthialpet; Vaikiki Complex, Bhaya Complex and Purasawalkam High Road.

Temple procession

A procession of 1,008 milk pots will be taken from Kapaleeswarar temple in Mylapore on Sunday. The milk will be used for an `abishekam' of goddess Kolavizhi Amman. Temple is located at Gopathy Narayanasami Chetty Street.

Free yoga classes

Sannyasi Krishnayogam will commence a new batch of yoga classes on Sunday. The classes will be conducted at Bala Vidya Higher Secondary School, 30, Vasudevapuram, West Mambalam, from 5.30 a.m. For details, contact 9444240383 / 24746974.

MIT cultural

A cultural programme, `Charisma', organised by the MIT Trust, will be held at the MIT Chrompet campus on Monday.

The Trust, started in July last year by students, has 393 members and it takes up social services including assisting poor students and orphanages.

Musical chair, dumb charade and other events will be organised at the festival for children from various orphanages in and around Chennai. Prizes will be distributed to the winners of the competitions, said a release from the Trust.
