Children reunited with parents

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: Nineteen children, many of them school dropouts and addicted to various substances, were officially handed over to their parents at a valedictory function of a de-addiction camp organised here on Saturday by Sathi, a voluntary organisation working with street and slum children and involved in reuniting runaways with their parents.

"Surya used to smoke beedi and while away his time in useless activities. He would never attend school. But the camp seems to have changed his attitude," said Sampoorna of Devarajeevanahalli, about her teenaged son.
