BANGALORE: The alleged Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative Tariq Ahmed Dar was brought to Bangalore on Saturday by a police team from the city after taking his custody from the New Delhi Metropolitan Court. Tariq was arrested by the New Delhi police in connection with the blasts at Sarojini Market in that city. The court remanded Tariq to the custody of Bangalore police till March 17 following a petition made by them stating his custody was necessary to ascertain his veracity in the attack on the Indian Institute of Science (IISc.) here, which took place on December 28, 2005, a senior police official told The Hindu on Saturday. According to highly placed sources in the city police, the suspected terrorist Imran Jalal, who was arrested here some time ago, had revealed during the narco analysis test that he had close links with Tariq. The police are likely to subject Tariq to narco-analysis. According to sources, Tariq has a master's degree in chemistry. He had worked as a journalist with a Srinagar magazine before joining a multinational company as a sales representative in 2003.
