Software has become a necessary tool for diverse functional areas like management, finance and marketing and the strategy of business development is now totally depended on software development, ISB Dean M. Rammohan Rao said. In this scenario, software sector provides great employment opportunities and its role is going to have an increased impact on all the businesses in future, he said while speaking at "Edify" - a symposium on IT and Management, organised by the Avanthi Institute of Engineering & Technology. Prof. H.S. Jamadagni of Indian Institute of Sciences, Bangalore, said the IT has the capability to plug the huge gap between the educated and illiterate and the urban and rural. G. Tulasiram Das of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University emphasised the importance of the quality in software services.
