NEW DELHI: To learn the various nuances of technical writing all that you need now is a computer with an Internet connection. Bangalore-based The Writers Block (TWB) that provides technical documentation outsourcing and training services to suit the demands of Indian technology companies will make its fundamental certification and other more advanced courses online from Monday. The initiative called TWB Online will offer formalised training to students who are unable to attend programmes offered by TWB owing to distance or time constraints. TWB Online programmes will provide students greater flexibility by allowing them to train at their own pace and time. The faculty, the training material and the opportunity to interface with the industry and mentorship right from training to placement will be similar to what is offered to regular learners. "With the online project, TWB is looking outside Bangalore to address the need for high quality technical documentation in Indian software industry. Our courses will now be accessible to students from different parts of the country," says Rakesh Shukla, Director (Business Development) of TWB. TWB Online can be delivered anywhere in the world over the Internet using a combination of flash demos and correspondence. Every student will be provided with individual login details and after completion of every module they can also view their grades online. Individual attention will be paid to students by assigning them mentors who not only help them clarify their doubts but also provide feedback. Online communication with the teaching faculty and fellow students will be made possible in the form of chat rooms and message forums.
