HYDERABAD: Cyberchess.co.in, a website aimed at giving comprehensive details featuring Andhra players in particular and the Indians in general was formally launched by N. Nageswara Rao, MD of NCS Group of Companies on Sunday. The site, designed by Andhra's first IM Lanka Ravi, with assistance from FIDE arbiter Damodar Rao, primarily targets to give information of the players from the State competing in the international events. "Since the official sites in most of the European countries have the sites in their national languages, we felt the chess lovers and players should know what is happening to their own stars. This site is expected to fulfil that objective," explained Lanka Ravi. It is also expected to provide any relevant information about the sport including availability of clocks, books besides promoting study of chess as a cognitive learning tool in curricular classes. Significantly, Russian GM Alexey Dreev will also contribute to the site with his analyses of the games and so do the Indian big guns in chess. As a special gesture, it was announced that those kids who were present at the inauguration would be given free access to all the information and the others from Monday will have to pay a minimum price being worked out. Later, Dreev was also engaged in a simultaneous display of chess with a few boys and girls to mark the occasion.
