HYDERABAD: The repercussions of the water contamination case are set to be felt in hostels and colleges across the twin cities. The MCH, which is sending water samples from the college's hostel for laboratory tests, is issuing a notice to all colleges and hotels to ensure safe sanitary conditions. Additional Commissioner (Health and Sanitation) R. Rammohan Rao stated that indications pointed towards water contamination being the reason for the sickness of the girls. Osmania University, of which the women's college is a constituent, is also swinging into action.

Vice-Chancellor Suleiman Siddiqi on Sunday said a committee had been constituted to inquire into facilities being provided in hostels and messes of four university-constituent colleges. The committee would submit its report within two days after inspecting Koti Women's College, Nizam College, Basheerbagh; Government PG College, Secunderabad; and PG College of Science, Saifabad.
