BANGALORE: The State unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided to embark upon "Vikasa Yatra", an 11-day State tour from April 9 to galvanise the party organisation ahead of elections to urban local bodies. The "Vikasa Yatra" will start in Davangere and end in Udupi on April 19. A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the State unit's office-bearers and district units' presidents in Bangalore on Sunday to chalk out an action plan for strengthening the party organisation in view of the elections. Briefing reporters after the meeting, BJP State unit president D.V. Sadananda Gowda said party leaders L.K. Advani and Rajnath Singh were expected to take part in a function to inaugurate the "Vikasa Yatra". Two teams of party leaders headed by him and Deputy Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa would tour the State, he said.
