Montego Bay: It's been touted as an open World Cup with any of the top eight sides in with a chance. How strong is India's? Four captains weigh in. Ricky Ponting (Australia): India is a very dangerous opponent in such conditions. And the way they have turned their game around in the last six months has been pretty amazing. Around that time, their coach was getting a lot of flak but now, they seem to have hit a rich vein of form. The conditions are probably a little bit similar to those they have back home but they have never been very good travellers. So let's see how the tournament goes. Graeme Smith (South Africa): India is a very competitive side. They've got players with experience, they've brought Sourav (Ganguly) back. They certainly have a lot of options. The challenge is to get those options to come off. India is one of the countries that's in with a chance. Michael Vaughan (England): India's got a good track record, they have experienced players. We certainly understand that India is going to be one of the top contenders, but we'll focus on our own performance. Mahela Jayawardene (Sri Lanka): India has played some good cricket especially in the last two ODIs against us. They have a lot of experienced performers. It's all about individuals performing on a given day. Lots of times it happens, lots of other times it doesn't. The names can be there, but you have to back it up with performances, and keep working hard. Special Correspondent
