"Even in Heritage Foods prices are high"

HYDERABAD: A Congress member S. Swarna Sudhakar pushed the Leader of the Opposition in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly N. Chandrababu Naidu into a tight corner on Monday.

During a debate in the Assembly, Mr. Naidu held the Government squarely responsible for the steep rise in prices of essential commodities in Andhra Pradesh.

However, Ms. Swarna wanted to narrate her own experience.

She said she had gone along with a few housewives to "fresh@" outlet of Heritage Foods owned by Mr. Naidu's family at Banjara Hills here.

She was under the notion that vegetables would be cheaper there, going by the repeated concern shown by Mr. Naidu for housewives in the face of the rise in prices. "But alas! the prices there too are sky high," she exclaimed.

Mr. Naidu did not respond to her statement.
