The cartoon based on Virender Sehwag's plight on the eve of World Cup 2007 (March 12) is very interesting and timely. It also shows how religiously attached we are to cricket.

The World Cup cricket extravaganza is scheduled in such a way as to spoil the future of students. The young cricket fan brigade is caught between examinations and passion for the game. Thanks to the extensive media coverage of the World Cup, students can neither eat nor sleep without following cricket. Parents cannot do much other than restricting television viewing, which is bound to create tensions.
