Puducherry: The budget session of the Puducherry Assembly will begin on March 27. Official sources told The Hindu here on Monday that Lt Governor Mukut Mithi will make his customary address on that day to formally inaugurate the session. This would be third session of the 12th Assembly constituted after the elections held in May 2006. A Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minster N. Rangasamy decided the date of budget session of the Assembly earlier in the day. The date of presentation of budget for the fiscal 2007-08 would be decided soon, official sources said. It is expected that the Assembly would soon have three nominated legislators. Although the CPI and PMK have finalised the names of their respective candidates for the post of the nominated legislators and submitted the names to the Chief Minister a month ago, the Congress is yet to decide the name of its nominee.
