KHAMMAM: Naxalites of the CPI(Maoist) blasted the gram panchayat building in the newly-constructed model housing colony for Polavaram project-displaced at Rallapudi in Velerpadu mandal on Monday. The building collapsed completely. Naxalites triggered the blast after forcing a group of masons sleeping in the building to shift to a house under construction. The colony was yet to be occupied by beneficiaries and hence, there were no casualties. The Aswaraopet area committee of the CPI(Maoist) owned up the blasting.
