Amended timings

Amended timings

NEW DELHI: Monika Raut clocked 23 minutes 24 seconds, not 24 minutes 23 seconds, as released by the Asian Athletics Association (AAA), while winning the junior women's 8-km race in the Asian cross-country championships at Amman, Jordan, on Saturday.

The AAA as well as the IAAF websites reported incorrect timings on Sunday but both have since issued a set of corrected results in all sections.

The amended timings: Men: 12-km: 1. Abdullah Ahmad Hassan (Qat) 35:41, 2. Surinder Singh (Ind) 36:43, 3. Khaled Yaseen (Brn) 36:48.

Women: 8-km: 1. Maryam Yusuf Jamal (Brn) 26:29, 2. Kareema Jasim (Brn) 26:36, 3. Nadia Aljaffaini (Brn) 26:49.

Junior men: 8-km: 1. Thamer Ali Kamel (Qat) 23:17, 2. Naser Jamal (Qat) 24:42, 3. Mujahid Al-Ommal (Yem) 25:30.

Junior women: 6-km: 1. Monika Raut (Ind) 23:24, 2. Rohini Raut (Ind) 23:30, 3. Bara'h Marwan (Jor) 23:46. — Special Correspondent
