BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh Assembly witnessed uproar on Monday after a Congress legislator tore question-answer booklet protesting a proposal to accord the name of an individual to a Government school in Bhind district. Unsatisfied by Government's reply on the move to accord the name of an individual to the government school in Tola village, Govind Singh tore the booklet during the Question Hour prompting strong protest from the Treasury Bench, which sought an apology from the legislator. As Mr. Singh went on to claim that several allegations were levelled against the individual and his name should not be used for the school, Speaker Ishwardas Rohani described his action as ``unparliamentary'' and voiced displeasure over it. The matter subsided after Mr. Rohani moved on to next question. Earlier replying to Mr. Singh, Education Minister Narottam Mishra said the school principal had taken the step to rename the school without proper sanction. Bhind district collector has been asked to probe the matter. Now, an official proposal in this regard was received and it was being examined, he added.- PTI
