Ex-MLA seeks CID probe into wife's accident

HYDERABAD:
Former legislator of Zaheerabad C. Baganna demanded a CB-CID enquiry into the road accident in which his wife was killed on August 16, 2005, in Zaheerabad town.
In a statement here on Monday, he said the driver of the tanker, which was involved in the accident, was caught and handed over to the police but he managed to secure bail.
Mr. Baganna said that his enquiries in Tamil Nadu had revealed that the address in the driving licence, RC book and transport permit of the tanker were found to be false and that the registration number was that of a motorcycle. Yet, he said, it was surprising that the vehicle had been moving freely through eight States during the last seven years. He suspected the involvement of a gang in the operation and hence an enquiry by CB-CID was necessary, he said.
