KARIMNAGAR: In view of the elections to the Legislative Council on March 17, the Karimnagar district police has banned rallies, dharnas, rasta rokos, meetings, use of public address system, bursting of crackers, etc. in the town from Monday (March 12) to March 24 till the completion of election process i.e. counting of votes. Karimnagar Deputy Superintendent of Police V. Ranga Rao said that prohibitory orders under Section 30 of Police Act were imposed in the town to maintain law and order and smooth conduct of election process Anybody interested to conduct rallies, dharnas, meetings etc should take prior permission from the DSP one day in advance or else action would be initiated against the culprits, the note stated.
