IIT panel visits Basar

Meets officials, politicians and members of people's organisations

BASAR: The three-member high-powered committee on the IIT visited the sprawling location measuring 1,090 acres on the Basar-Mudhole road identified for the location of the institute here on Monday.

Committee members R. Natarajan, former Director of IIT Chennai, N. Balakrishnan, Associate Director of the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and the Director of the Indian Institute of Information Technology arrived at this temple town late on Sunday night.

They embarked on their business after offering poojas at Gnana Saraswati temple.
