Techie's wife

hangs self

A software engineer, Venkata Laxmikanth's wife, K. Karuna, 22, committed suicide by hanging in her house at S.R. Nagar on Sunday night, the police said. The couple got married two years ago. They had a two-year-old son. The duo reportedly had an argument over some family dispute before she resorted to the extreme step.

Body found

A highly decomposed body of a three-old-boy was found in a culvert at Hayathnagar on Monday. The identity of the boy who was clad in white shirt with black stripes was yet to be known. The body has been preserved at Osmania General Hospital mortuary for identification and autopsy, the police said.

Two killed

Two persons were killed after a tourist bus rammed into a scooter on which they were travelling at Shamshabad airport on Sunday. Sudhakar (25) and Govind (23), both residents of Madhuranagar, were returning home when the accident happened. Sudhakar used to work as a milk vendor, while Govind was a security guard, according to the police.

Property recovered

South Zone police on Monday arrested three persons and recovered five stolen two-wheelers and five tolas of gold ornaments. Two-wheelers were seized from a mechanic Shaik Akheel, 33, while gold ornaments were recovered from autorickshaw drivers Mujeeb and Asadullah. Inter student held

The Madhapur police on Monday arrested six members, including an Intermediate first-year student, Fayyaz Khan, 19, who allegedly used to rob passengers of auto-rickshaws at knifepoint.

The gang was picked up on a tip-off, Rajendranagar ACP K. Mahipal Reddy said. A stolen gold chain, seven mobile phones, Rs. 4,000 and a motorcycle, all worth Rs. 2.5 lakhs, were recovered from them.

All the six arrested are residents of Borabanda.
