Hoardings go mobile

Advertisement hoardings in the city are going mobile. Advertisers have turned to hoardings on wheels to bypass the stringent regulations on putting up big boards.

The regulations were imposed following a spate of accidents involving toppling of boards installed on top of buildings.

The mobile version is basically a flex board mounted on the loading bay of a truck. Unlike fixed advertisements, the vehicle goes around the city and parks at places where people converge.

An advantage is that a viewer can walk up to the vehicle and seek further information on the product or service advertised. The vehicle can also dispense application forms or brochures.
