KOCHI: The Kerala Traditional Fishworkers' Union is taking out a `torchlight march' in towns along the coastline on Wednesday to press for a larger budgetary allocation for the sector. Union general convenor Charles George said the fisheries sector was facing a catastrophic decline. Instead of a substantial allocation for the revival and restructuring of the sector, this year's budget just copied last year's provisions, he said. The march would also urge the Government to file an appeal in the Supreme Court against the court order banning the use of mechanised boats.
