250 screened at free medical camp

Tuticorin: The NSS unit of Fisheries College and Research Institute (FCRI) organised a 10-day special camp at Perurani village near her recently.

A free medical camp was conducted, as part of the programme, during which 250 persons were screened by doctors.

Four hundred and fifty livestock were treated at a veterinary camp, which was also held during the 10-day camp.

Resource persons from FCRI disseminated information about composite and ornamental fish culture.The students enacted a drama on drug abuse and prevention of AIDS, to create awareness among the people.

B Ahilan, NSS Programme Officer of the institute, coordinated the proceedings. J.D. Jameson, Dean-in-charge, inaugurated the camp. Aavudiammal, president of Perurani village panchayat, was present.
