Seminar to mark birth centenary of Pudhumaipithan

Puducherry: The Subramania Bharathiar School of Tamil Literature and Studies at Pondicherry University and the New Century Book House (NCBH), Chennai, are jointly organising a two-day seminar to mark the renowned writer Pudhumaipithan's birth centenary. It will be held at the conference hall of the Department of Earth Sciences on the university premises at Kalapet near here on Wednesday and Thursday.

Coordinator of the seminar A. Arivunambi said in a release that Director of the NCBH R. Nallakannu would inaugurate the meet, while the Vice-Chancellor (in-charge) S. Kuppuswamy would preside.

Sahitya Akademi awardee K. Rasanarayanan and Tamil Professor Durai Seenichamy would facilitate. Scholars and writers from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry would present special lecturers on the contributions of Pudhumai pithan.
