Council chairman election likely to be held on March 21

BANGALORE: The Janata Dal (S)-Bharatiya Janata Party coalition Government is likely to give its nod to the Governor, T.N. Chaturvedi, for holding the election to the post of Chairman of the Legislative Council on March 21.

According to sources, the Governor had asked the Principal Secretary to inform the Upper House to hold the elections to the post.

With the State Budget to be presented on March 16, there was no chance to take up the election work on Friday, the sources said.
