VIJAYAWADA : Leaders of the all-party committee against water meters have given a call to the people to resist the fixing of water meters to domestic connections. A procession was taken out from Lenin centre to the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation office to mark the conclusion of the 14-day campaign against water meters in the city. Leaders of the all-party committee participated in padayatras in all the 59 divisions in the city as part of the campaign. CPI (M) floor leader Ch. Babu Rao said the party committee announced its decision to "physically" prevent the fixing of water meters to domestic taps and urged the citizens to do the same. CPI (M) city secretary R.Raghu, former MLA K.Subba Raju, CPI city secretary P.Surya Rao, TDP Vijayawada Urban district president Gadde Rama Mohana and general secretary Nagul Meera spoke.
