Release list of beneficiaries for site distribution: Revanna

Plea to give sites to those residing outside Hassan city limits may be considered

HASSAN: Minister for Public Works and Energy H.D. Revanna has directed officials to release the list of beneficiaries for the distribution of sites within 15 days. He was addressing officials at the RTO Office in Hassan on Monday after receiving representations from auto drivers and others.

Mr. Revanna said the Government was actively considering bringing auto drivers and their family members under insurance cover, as most of these families were poor.

He said he received 18,000 applications from drivers, cleaners and other workers. Of this 2,000 applications would be selected in the first phase and another 3,000 applications in second phase.

Owing to an appeal from the auto drivers that sites should be given to those residing outside Hassan City limits, the Minister assured to consider their request. Regional Transport Officer Shoba asked auto drivers to enclose a copy of their driving licence, permits and residency certificates. Last date to submit their applications is March 15.

Speaking on the occasion, H.S. Prakash, MLA, advised drivers to get permit for their autos besides insuring their autos .

F.R. Jamaadar, Chief Executive Officer, zilla panchayat, Raju, Commissioner, City Municipal Council, Thammaiah, Additional Superintendent of Police, and headquarters assistant to Deputy Commissioner, Honakeri, were present on the occasion.
